SL63 AMG Auction

The Exclusive Personalised Number Plate, SL63 AMG, is to be Auctioned Early. The DVLA (Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency) Personalised Registrations are giving a Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG owner the rare opportunity to grab one of the most sought after personalised numbers. The SL63 AMG number plate is being auctioned off in the September sale at Mercedes-Benz World, with a £2,000 reserve, along with 1,500 other personalised number plates during a three day auction at the Surrey location on September 6th.

SL63 AMG Up For Auction

The 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG contains the 5.5-litre V8 biturbo engine, 544 hp and 760 Nm of torque. Mercedes says the SL63 emits 322 g/km of CO2 and a combined fuel consumption of 20.5 mpg. The G63 AMG comes as standard with the Chrome Package and Exterior Styling Package. Linked to a 7-Speed Driver-Adaptive automatic transmission, it can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds.

As the number plate is of the 63 series it cannot be used until September 1, 2013, a year after it can be bought. However, registered SL63 AMG bidders will get the chance to visit the Mercedes museum and try a “hot lap” ride around the circuit onsite for free, as extras to encourage more potential buyers. The £2,000 reserve for the SL63 AMG personalised number plate is only a drop in the ocean compared to the actual £123,115 cost of the SL63 AMG and the current owners of SL’s will most probably push up the starting price.

“Auctioning a registration so far in advance of its on the road date has never been done before, but as it is the 60th anniversary year of the SL we wanted to celebrate by offering the registration for sale now rather than have it sitting in our vault,” said DVLA Personalised Registrations’ marketing manager Damian Lawson. Mercedes-Benz World will be a perfect backdrop for our next sale.”

Whilst the SL63 AMG number plate is surely the draw of the auction there are many other personalised number plates that will appeal to a range of Mercedes-Benz owners, with standout numbers being BE11 NDA, CA12 TER, JE12 OME and PA12 KES. Other plates which will be sure to catch the eyes of keen buyers at the auction are SE11 OUT, BA11 OON (reserve – £1,000), BO55 AMG (£700), BU11 OCK (£1,000) and TR11 CKS (£1,000) and CO07 SPY, which James Bond fans are likely to grab.

A whole range of other activities can be performed at Mercedes-Benz World, such as Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy that is currently looking for Britain’s Best Young Driver, with prizes on offer such as a full course of driving lessons and the opportunity to test drive new cars, such as the new A-Class.
