Honda Jazz: A Small Car with a Big Personality
In the world of motoring, vehicles fall into numerous classes or categories with the small car a big market for manufacturers looking to dominate the industry. The benefits of small cars are obvious – they’re usually cheaper to buy, comfortable to drive and easy to park – but that’s not to say all of them are the same.
Within the market, you’ll find plenty of diversity, with some performing better than others. The small stature of the vehicles shouldn’t be underestimated. Some small cars have made a big splash when released and the Honda Jazz is a perfect example.
Small Car, Big Impact
Originally launched in 2002, the Jazz has offered motorists many updates on its winning formula over the years which each model a resounding success. This is due to a unique combination of top features which allow the model to offer both comfort and practicality in equal measure.
The Honda Jazz is a comfortable drive but it is also easy to manoeuvre which makes it ideal for drivers of all abilities and levels of experience. Competitive prices and attractive aesthetics help to cement it as a strong contender in the market and mean that it has a big impact on buyers, despite its small dimensions.
On top of all this the car is reliable, which means that future running costs are kept to a minimum and drivers benefit from a safe and dependable drive each and every time they get behind the wheel.
According to a report on Motoring.co.uk, the Honda Jazz beat Citroën’s C1 to be crowned the most reliable used car by Warranty Direct following examination of 50,000 live policies. The vehicle was particularly recommended as a viable option for parents thinking of buying a car for their kids as they prepare to leave for university, beating other classic favourites such as the Ford Fiesta.
Given that almost three quarters of parents (71%) contribute more than £3,000 to their child’s car, with 40% buying it outright, this is a strong recommendation for the Honda Jazz.
New for 2013
As mentioned above, the Jazz is a car which is constantly updating itself for the benefit of its drivers – and the latest 2013 range is no different. Proving that this small car still has a big voice, minor cosmetic changes, increased comfort and further reduced running costs are all key features of the 2013 Honda Jazz.
There are 6 new paint colours for motorists to choose from with both petrol engine options (a 1.2 litre and 1.4 litre) claiming fuel efficiency of more than 50mpg while emitting less than 130g/km of CO2. A bigger windscreen and higher roofline improve visibility and give you the impression you’re in a supermini, while leg and headroom is decent throughout the car, meaning rear passengers aren’t short-changed. Storage has also been expanded with various compartments and holders found in the cabin and a more than adequate 883 litre boot capacity when seats are folded flat.
All this means the Honda Jazz is setting the pace when it comes to the modern, multi-purpose car. New accolades recognising reliability are great commendations but for a range which can boast a place in the top green car launches of 2011 but with the Jazz, it’s hardly surprising.
